Pietro MASCAGNI
7 December 1863 - 2 August 1945 (age 81)

Another of the 'one hit wonders' of the world of opera. Mascagni's one act opera 'Cavalleria Rusticana' is consistently in the top 20 of opera performances, usually paired with Leoncavallo's 'Pagliacci'.
He did though compose a lot more than that work much of it very beautiful.
